Can BSFL be stored without substrate?

I'll be going away for a few days and need to make feeding easy for the person caring for my beardie. Would it be okay to store BSFL for a few days without their usual medium/substrate? I'm thinking if I rinse them and portion them out into smaller containers, the person caring for my dragon can just dump them into her bowl once a day.

Has anyone ever stored them this way? Or can you see any possible issues with doing this for a few days?

Any other suggestions are welcome too!

If it's just a few days I think it will be fine. Ive never really tried this out but I have left them in my girls food bowl for a day to see if she'd eat them and they were fine when I returned.
Someone else may know much more about this topic than I do so don't take my word for it

The larvae will shrink substantially if stored without the substrate, so for best result should keep them with the substrate

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
