Can a tank be too large for a bearded dragon?

Dimensions (inches): 90w x 36d x 27h or about 7.5ft x 3ft x 2.25ft

I'm getting it for $50, INSANE DEAL. I forgot what kind of wood it was specifically but its made from scraps of roofing support beams (very sturdy). heavy sliding glass doors. it has 2 sets of uvb/fluorescent light fixtures (can fit up to 4 tubes total) as well as at least one heat bulb.
I saw the tank earlier this evening and its MASSIVE. The guy that has it said they've kept a monitor lizard in it before and a friend with the same tank used it to house a burmese python. The guy that made the tank made a dozen or so and used another for a cobra. Its a sturdy tank.

Also, I was wondering if I can use bird seed as a substrate, I've never heard of anyone using it but the people with the tank said they had used it for the monitor lizard that lived in there. If it happened to eat any of it, it would pass through? I'm currently using newspaper, I was using shelf liner but my beardie started attacking it..

This picture does it no justice, at all.

Edit: My beardie is a sub-adult (I think), hes just over a year, 14 mo and today measured in at 18.5 inches end to end

I think if you have the proper lighting/vents he should be fine. If you think its too big you can always split it and house 2 beardies :)

That's a little larger than my tank. I put a divider down the middle so I could separate my two. They do just fine. I do say though, I kinda have regrets getting one that large. Because of it's size, we're severely limited on where we can put it. We can't move it without help. It's also a pain to clean. We're considering next year building some enclosures and selling it.

And as far bird seed, I wouldn't recommend it. Monitors and dragons are completely different. it's comparing apples and oranges really. all substrates that are potentially edible have a risk.

I agree with ziggy. The bird seed could cause impaction if ingested. I would use tile, reptile carpet, carpet, newspaper, shelf liner, or butcher paper. Any loose substrate will might cause impactions.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
