Camping trip?

Hey guys I wanted to get some feedback on an idea that I had...

So i am currently at college and my uncle is taking great care of my baby at home. This upcoming weekend is family weekend and my parents and brother will be staying at a campground nearby for the weekend. I was thinking that it would be awesome if they could bring my beardie down with them cause i miss her so much! My mom and i are trying to figure out how we could do this...any ideas?

Important info:
We have an actual camper, not a tent, and it has full AC/HEAT controls and plenty of outlets
She is a full adult, little over a foot long, around 3 years old.

Questions i have:
should i get a second tank for traveling? plexi glass? smaller? keep the same tank?
Any thoughts and ideas are greatly appriciated! Thanks!

I would love to hear answers on this as well! I hear about people traveling all the time with their Beardies, but I have absolutely zero idea how to do so. Good question! I'll be watching for answers, right along with you

I mean if you do have her come to you it might bring some stress to the dragon. You should somewhat try to keep the tank as neaty as possible so that things wont be moving around and causing a mess in the cage. Give him/her plenty of room to move around since she is a big girl. Just remove unneeded decoration in the tank. If anything try to buy some heat packs and throw those under the tank to keep the dragon warm depending on the temperature of the transportation to your location. make sure to have some water if it gets really hot. and Some portable food!

I am not so much worried about packing it or temps, the camper is pretty big so we have room and easy control of temp. I was trying to figure out if i should just use her normal 40 gallon or if i could get away with a slightly smaller tank for a few days, also does anyone know if there are plexi glass like tanks?

Get a big clear plastic rubbermaid tub, deep enough that there's no chance your dragon could climb out, and a clamp light for your heat bulb. Take your dragon outside daily for some natural UVB. Check your temps with a temp probe or temp gun. Have food and supplements with you.

That's really all there is to it! It's not a big deal, the most complicated thing is making sure you stop what you're doing and get the dragon fed at regular times, which can be a little tricky if you have lots of activities planned.

I had Iroh with me for a week of vacation at the beach and it was awesome. I'll definitely do it again. He ate the entire time, sat on my shoulder, we played on the beach, no issues at all. But I guess it also depends on your dragon's personality.

I've brought my youngest camping 3 times now and she is great. This is in a tent as well and not in a RV/camper, so weather is always a factor for our trips but you'd be fine since she'll be inside.

I take her out everywhere when we camp - to the beach, kayaking, on the boat (zipped up in my jacket), hiking. She sleeps in my sleeping bag with me and if it gets too chilly I wrap her in a blanket with one of those shipping heat packs. I don't even bring a tank for her! Just a thermometer and greens (no feeders generally as those are a pain to deal with camping). She loves to be out and about, especially if we make it to the beach and she gets to dig.

At the end of the day you know your dragon best. If you think she'll be fine, she probably will be! As to the tank, you'd be fine with a clear rubber one instead of hauling around a heavy glass 40g.

Here's a few pics:

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
