Calcium

Can someone make me a schedule for calcium for my baby beardie?

I want to have a set day of the week for every calcium and multivitamin I give him.

My baby is about 5-6 months old. He has the T5 10.0 florecesnt tube.

Should I give him both with and without D3?

Hello,

Sure, it shouldn't be too hard to develop a supplementation & calcium schedule for your
juvenile.
Since you are using a T5 tube bulb, I feel that he wont really need D3 very often. You
can use calcium without D3 the majority of time & calcium with D3 maybe 1 time weekly
& regular calcium 3-4 times.
The multivitamin can be given 1-2 times weekly. Which brands are you using?
Which T5 tube bulb brand are you using, Reptisun or Arcadia?

The breeder I got my BD from (20+ yrs experience) made it very easy:
Multi (Herptivite) one meal per week
CaD3 one meal per day (except on the day he gets the Herptivite).

I chose Saturday as the "odd" day because that's also the day I weigh, measure, and (if/when necessary) bathe him.

I've been reading/thinking lately about backing off some on the CaD3, but I'm going to run it by the breeder and my herp vet. I did the calcium daily at first because I had some trouble getting the right UVB bulb (long sad story) but since everything's established, it may be time.

I get how a definite/regular schedule works out easier for some folks (self included).
Subject to Tracie's approval, may I suggest the following schedule, based on her post/recommendations:

M,T,R,F: Ca w/o D3
Wed: Ca w/ D3 (just to break up the week and space it ~evenly from the Multi
Sat/Sun (either or both) Multi

Whatever schedule you decide on, let us know!

Tracie said, "The multivitamin can be given 1-2 times weekly," so my thinking was, if once per week, give the multi on Sat or Sun; if twice per week, then give the multi on Sat and Sun. (I'm getting a flashback of programming with logical operators here... :roll: )

I see you started another thread in General Discussion, and came up with a schedule. That will likely get moved here too.
