Calcium questions

Just wanted to stop by and find clear answers on calcium supplements. I've read a lot of conflicting info.

Sapphire has a Reptisun tube light, gets a salad every day and about 30 crickets a week. Should I use calcium with D3, or without? Also should I dust the salad and crickets or just one, if just one then which gets dusted? How many days do I dust the food if it's salad, and if it's the crickets do you always dust them or just some turns? How much calcium goes on the crickets?

So much conflicting and confusing info. So many questions. She's an adult, several years old.

Hi guys....I know it can be confusing and this question comes up regularly but actually, there is such a thing as too much calcium, both with OR without D3. I use a very light coating of calcium about 2-3X a week at the most for my adults, alternating the 2 kinds [ with or without D3 ] I do the same for my babies but use the powder for 1 feeding per day, lightly. Too much D3 can cause fatal toxicity, and too much calcium itself can cause calcification of vital organs. Here is a link to an article froom Reptiles magazine written by expert reptile breeder Allen Repashy. Scroll down to part 3 + 4. Please pass on the info because many people do not realize how too much calcium , with OR without D3 can make your pet very sick.

That's why I was concerned and wanted to ask, I didn't want to be giving her too much D3 or calcium.

This is my current supplement schedule:
Calcium with D3 dusted on salad 3x a week
Multivites dusted on salad 2x a week
2 days of no supplements
15 calcium dusted crickets 2x a week, days are not specific

Is that alright? Should I bother dusting the crickets at all if I dust her salad already, or should I dust them with multivites instead or maybe calcium without D3? Sorry, lots of questions, but I want to be sure I'm going it right.

If she's actually eating all her salad then 3X a week should be plenty of calcium + D3. Go light on the multivitamin the days that you use it.

I only dust mine with calcium 2-3X a week, but I dust the bugs, not the salad. You can dust either one but again, they don't need it every day as adults. I use very little vitamin, so you have to choose whatever day and whether your vit. powder will go on your veg. or the bugs. Calcium is more important though as a supplement, just not too much.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
