Calcium questions. Need advice? Can you give to much?

We have calcium with and without D3 I'm trying to start my girls on a schedule so I know when to give them what but I'm not really sure how much to give them and for how long like how many days a week or give D3 and without d3? Is their such a thing as coating the crickets with to much calcium? I usually feed them out of their viv, but if I'm going to the store or something and know I'm going to be gone for a feeding I will stick a couple in their but the calcium comes off pretty easy and gets messy especially on their carpet..how do I know if I have been giving to much? I know the smallest wasn't getting enough because not only did the store admit to not giving her calcium, but when she got settled she would lick the calcium off the carpet and she ate alot of her shed...like all of it and my other girls shed to. This time around she hasn't even bothered with her shed though.

With a good UVB tube fitted, you're not likely to overdose on calcium. Its when the proper lighting isn't provided that they can't absorb the calcium and it can cause problems. It is easy to overdose on D3 if given daily.

The easiest way is to provide a dose of calcium only 5 times a week (light sprinkle over greens or dusted live) then provide multivits WITH D3 twice a week.

1/4 teaspoon of supplement in a plastic cup is enough to dust livefood.

As said by mysty , I just dust my crickets LIGHTLY , they don't need to caked in the powder .
