Hi there! I recently got my first beardie (yay! :blob8: ). I'm assuming he's less than a month old as he's very tiny, and I don't know an exact age since I got him at Petsmart. I have a few questions about calcium powder. I've been using Zoo Med Reptical with D3, but I'm not sure exactly how much of it he's supposed to be getting each day. Right now I'm dusting all of his crickets in it (ranging anywhere from 10-20 a day- he's still adjusting), but I'm worried I'll give him too much of. Is using it for all three of his meals too much?

Also, as I read more forums I see that some people are using a vitamin supplement twice a week? Is this necessary? And if so, what are the recommended brands?

One last question, any tips on how to make him eat his veggies? He doesn't touch them. I've been giving green beans, shredded carrots, and squash.

Thanks! :)

The crickets only need to be dusted with calcium powder 1 meal per day (5x per week). The brand you're using is fine. You have the 1'' T8 ReptiSun UVB right? Using D3 is OK for that, but if you go to a high output bulb or an MVB then you'll want to use calcium without it. I use Herptivite vitamin powder 2x per week. I wouldn't worry about the veggies much. The young ones tend to ignore them until they're older. Keep offering a salad so he is used to it and has a food source available all the time if needed, but don't be surprised if he doesn't want any. They focus on the protein early on to support their fast growth.

Ok guys I need some help with calcium/supplements. I have a reptisun 10.0. What supplements or calcium do I need, and how many times a week do I dust food? I have a baby bearded dragon. Thanks

With the T8 Zilla Slimline fixture you'll want to use calcium with D3. Dust every meal (or what is prescribed by the instructions on your calcium - they can vary) and dust with a multivitamin instead of the calcium once or twice a week.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
