Calci worms or fakes??

I ran out of Phoenix worms and my order won't get here til nextThursday or Friday so I went to PETCO to try their Cali worms since I read they are one in the same. Are they? Upon appearance they are not. Not even close by comparison. Can anyone verify this?

Calciworms, reptiworms, and phoenix worms are all just branded names of the Black solider fly larva. They are the same thing.

It could just be that you buying them from the source, you are getting fresh well fed larva, as apposed to buying them from a middleman where they could have been sitting at room temperature and not eating for awhile.

Thank you. Perhaps they were dead. They were very black. It appeared they had lots of legs? They looked nothing like what I get from Phoenix Worms. I will keep a check on the worms there to see if they get any healthy ones. Thanks again Brandon.

calci worms, phoenix worms and repti worms are the same things. as for them being black they are not dead. that's what happens to them before they turn into flies. they also have the most calcium when they are like that
