You need the UVB on 14 hrs per day in summer, 12 winter. A heat bulb, any will do you can try a couple to see what works the best/temperature. At night you can use a exo terra heat pad/cable. I have both in different tanks. 40 gal: heat pad, 75 gal heat cable. I have a pic of the cable installed if u wanna see i put it on yesterday when i got the new 75 galalrha":26t21n54 said:So just that double 48" (one reptisun and one regular bulb? or both reptisun?)
and that single fiberglass incandescent (halogen bulb? or "basking bulb"?)
so the heat bulb is not needed? why are they used for? really cold homes?
also, is 65 the absolute lower limit? its in the basement which is generally cooler than the rest of the house, if on a really cold winter night the temps get as low as 60 will he still be fine? or would it be safest to just keep a heat emitter as a back up to make sure temps dont ever fall below 65?
lastly, any need for any sort of night light?

is that fiberglass socket a good choice? Or are there better options?
UVB fixture can be placed in the front of the tank (to be less noticeable and hidden by the cage lip)? Or does it need to be centered? Also does it need to overlap with the basking bulb? I also see some fixtures advertised to have an internal ballast. Is that something I need?
