I ordered a 52"x21"base 24.5" height vivarium

and now need to select the light fixtures.

Would a 48" double (for Reptisun 10.0)

and two Fiberglass incandescent kits (one for basking bulb and one for night heat bulb)

be a good choice?

You dont need a night heat bulb unless it gets cooler than 65 degrees at night. Dragons like it cool and dark, colored bulbs blue/red can still be see.

So just that double 48" (one reptisun and one regular bulb? or both reptisun?)
and that single fiberglass incandescent (halogen bulb? or "basking bulb"?)

so the heat bulb is not needed? why are they used for? really cold homes?

also, is 65 the absolute lower limit? its in the basement which is generally cooler than the rest of the house, if on a really cold winter night the temps get as low as 60 will he still be fine? or would it be safest to just keep a heat emitter as a back up to make sure temps dont ever fall below 65?

lastly, any need for any sort of night light?

You need the UVB on 14 hrs per day in summer, 12 winter. A heat bulb, any will do you can try a couple to see what works the best/temperature. At night you can use a exo terra heat pad/cable. I have both in different tanks. 40 gal: heat pad, 75 gal heat cable. I have a pic of the cable installed if u wanna see i put it on yesterday when i got the new 75 gal

No night light - it disrupts their sleep patterns so you want it dark at night. I know I had an infrared bulb as the petstore told me to use that - I got rid of it after learning here it's NOT needed!

If your basement is cooler, I'd probably use a CHE (ceramic heat element) to keep the temps warm at night. Probably wouldn't need that on during the day since you have the basking bulb warming things up. I have a fixture that has 2 sockets that swivel so I can turn and direct them onto a spot.

CHE can be placed on opposite end from basking bulb? Or should it be one the same end?
is that fiberglass socket a good choice? Or are there better options?

UVB fixture can be placed in the front of the tank (to be less noticeable and hidden by the cage lip)? Or does it need to be centered? Also does it need to overlap with the basking bulb? I also see some fixtures advertised to have an internal ballast. Is that something I need?

I'd say place the CHE at the same end with the basking that way you have a cooler end he/she can go to vs the whole area being warm.

Not sure about the fiberglass socket, I found a metal one but I'd imagine the fiberglass would be fine as it should be good for high heat.

As for the UV - as long as your beardie can get close enough to it (not sure of the range off hand, maybe 6 - 10" ), it should be fine. Mine runs almost full length of my viv (viv is 4' and my UV is 3' centered in that 4' length).

Can't help you with the ballast thing.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
