buying a beardie online

hey guys, figured no where else better to ask than on here! i want to buy another beardie however petco bye my house isn't selling them anymore for some reason, and also wanted to look somewhere for more diversity.

i am atttending a reptile show soon and will check there, but has anyone bought online? if so what are good sites to check/stay away from.

I bought a happy, healthy male from Rio Reptiles 3 years ago, and he is still still happy and healthy.
I highly recommend Rio Reptiles. Cheryl can even advise you as to temperament, etc., if you have a special request.

Petco stopped carrying them because one child got salmonella from his :/ I would definitely recommend Carolina Classics. The breeder I got my dragon from has a girl from CC and she's gorgeous. They can be a little pricey though.

Reptile shows are nice because you get to meet the dragkns and breeder in person - and don't need to stress about the shipping. I got my guy from midnight dragonz, they also do online sales too.

I also highly recommend Carolina Classic Dragons (http://www.carolinaclassicdragons.com)--follow them on Facebook, as he often posts sales (you'll see beautiful dragons as low as $100 if you watch the page for a while). I ordered a young hypo orange/citrus male from David back in July and he is incredibly healthy, friendly, and tame--he was clearly handled as a baby. The overnight shipping didn't seem to stress him out at all, probably because he was healthy and a reasonable size for shipment to begin with. David grows all the greens he feeds his dragons, is really educated on their care, and has some very informative YouTube videos, including an interview with a reptile vet, posted on his site. He's very aware of protecting his dragons from contagious health problems, such as yellow fungus. He responds promptly to emails, and has always been available to answer my questions, even five months down the road.

I just got mine a few days ago from Big Chief Dragons, and she is wonderful. I would definitely recommend him. She started eating right away, and is extremely tame. She has never acted skittish or shy around us. She came in like she owned the place, lol.

I agree with reptile shows. I went about a month ago to one just to meet breeders. The way they set up and how they talk to you about them tells you a lot. The woman I spoke to had her beardies all set up in spacious containers and the lighting they needed for the day, while others had them all in deli cups. She was happy to answer my questions and I got to hold one of her dragons. It didn't freak out and even went for immediate cuddle. Jan 4th I'm going again to get a dragon from her

My little guy Narley (see my signature) is from Carolina Classic Dragons, and he's beautiful!! (I think!) He has had a lot of parasites, but I don't blame the breeder, I think Narley just has a weak immune response to them. I highly recommend CCD and if you check them out on Facebook, you'll see that they have GORGEOUS dragons.
They aren't shipping anymore for a while though - waiting for warmer weather!
