Butterworms as staple?

Hi, I ordered buttworms for a change out of Duke's normal hornworms and silkies. I love them! They are so low maintenance and Duke loves them. No more dumping poop every morning! They are the highest in calcium but the highest in fat too. Does this mean they cannot be a staple because they are high in fat?

I really like them, too, but their calories from fat are apparently the issue. Their regular 'fat' count isn't really high, just the calories. So.. I am still going to use them on a semi-regular basis (mostly for those times where I don't have time to 'prepare' a meal for her, and need something quick). I love how they smell so sweet. Blazey really loves them. I was really hoping to use them as their main staple, but I guess I better not

Butters have 5.2% fat, as compared to crickets 6.0% . They are acceptable as a staple. Just because they have butter in the name doesn't mean they are fatty.

The calories are very high. I will be adding them as a regular to Blaze's diet, but I won't be using them every day.. 3, maybe 4 meals a week at most.. They are good feeders, though.

I just recieved my butterworms and I gave Harley 2 before bed. Well the next morning I gave him one and then I was putting some in a dish on my lap and he jumped to the edge of his cage and leaped to my lap. I could not believe it. He LOVES them.

I'm using them on a regular basis until my roach colony breeds more. I just could not stand the crickets any longer. I will pay extra for those worms. They are so easy to keep. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

I have FINALLY found a UK store that will deliver butters and im thrilled.
Im going to be using them as a staple for now because of their high calc + calories.
I have a skinny minny rescued dragon who needs some junk putting in his trunk ^_^

i too love butters! well my girl does, lol
my mischief used to love them but hes on some sort of half hunger strike but my girl will literally only eat butters, mealies and waxs, obviously the waxs (as shes big girl anyway) she maybe gets 1 or 2 a week, the mealies i find hard to gutload so the butters are great for me and she loves them, i find them quite pricey though thats the only drawback, the only other website i know off that sells them are almost constantly out of stock!
