burns, yellow fungus, or something else?

I've had pancake, my rescue beardie, for almost two weeks now. I have no idea how old she is. The rescue I got her from guessed 3 or 4 but there's no way of telling. I think she's older than that.
since I got her she has had these black spots on her head. Some parts are where I took some retained shed off. I don't think it's yellow fungus because it hasn't spread at all in the two weeks I've had her. could it be burns from her old home? Maybe a light was too hot? I circled the areas of concern in the pictures. I also see some of the spikes on her head are flattening out. is that normal? Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi there....those are just marks that females [ and some males ] sustain during mating. The other dragon bites them back there to subdue them in to the mating position. At times, even a dominant female will do so to another. It's nothing to worry about, but best not to pick it at all. You can use a bit of Neosorin or unpasteurized honey....even pure aloe [ with NO added ingredients ] But in general those little spots heal just fine but at times will not shed as quickly as the rest of the body.

Thanks for the reply! I think you're the one who responded to my post in the introductions when I first got her. I originally was told she was a boy, but you said she looked like a gravid female. After checking, she is definitely a girl! I don't know if she is gravid though. If those marks are there now does that mean that she has mated recently or do they stay forever? Do you know of a good way for me to tell how old she is? Poor girl. I feel like she has had a rough life.

She might be gravid, or just be a chubby dragon. :) Those bite marks can at times even come from another female that she was housed with that nipped at her from time to time. It doesn't necessarily mean she's had a rough life, even a female that is bred once can have a few bite marks. She's very plump, so the previous owner evidently fed her well + must have cared for her. :)

I can't guess her age, she's almost certainly over 2 years to be her size, but a guess of 3-4 yrs. old is very reasonable. There may always be a slight scar there, if the spikes are bitten off they don't grow back. The spot that looks the biggest will do well with just a dab of unpasteurized honey [ the kind from a health food store or a beekeeper ] The raw honey has antmicrobial properties and can promote granulation of tissue. If you do use honey though, be sure never to leave loose crickets in the tank, they would be attracted to it .

Okay. I don't think she is gravid. I have felt her tummy and there is no lumps and she doesn't glass dance or dig. She eats well, loves her greens which is a relief.

Won't ever have to worry about the crickets because the diva refuses and only eats her super worms. She has been passed down the line. Apparently her original owners didn't want her or couldn't care for her anymore so she was sent to a lady who temporary houses them. This lady spoils then rotten and that's apparently how she got so chunky (the supers only diet doesn't help with her high fat intake), when this lady doesn't have any more room for beardies and she gets a little over her head she will send some of them to the guy I got her from. He runs the CCSB reptile rescue, and they never turn down any reptiles. So I really have no idea what kind of home she was in before she went to the first rescue. I would love to get a hold of the lady from the first rescue and find out more about her, though.

I have another concern with her, she makes this popping noise ONLY when bearding up if she's aggravated. Otherwise theres never any noise. I read another thread on here and a girl said hers has always done the popping noise and she's brought her to the vet but nothing is wrong. There's never anything coming from her nose, and I don't see her open her mouth much but when I do I don't see sticky spit.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
