"bum shuffle"

I also gotta ask this , the new dragon is standing on my chest looking at me and lowers itself so it's belly is resting on me. It looks content and it's eyes start to close. I pet it from snout to the base of the tail and it's almost lights out. Just before total zzzzzzz's it does this "bum shuffle", or bum wiggle and then out.
What is that all about?

Hi Frank,

You just experienced one of the cutest things that beardies do in my opinion. That little wiggle is just your little guy trying to get into a comfy position. He obviously found it and is now in a wonderful slumber :sleepy2: probably dreaming about chasing crickets through a field.

In addition to the above noted reasons, in the wild, they do this to partially bury themselves in the sand or underbrush before closing their eyes to go to sleep so as to hide themselves better from predators. They are afterall a food source in the wild. Mainly to birds and larger carnivorous mamals.

It's cute until they wiggle into a comfy position on your skin! Then you get stuck with spikes! :lol:

I love it when they do that. Scorch will also reposition herself while sleeping. It is so cute when they wiggle themselves to get further down when they are under a blanket or in your robe or when they sneak up to snuggle in the crick of your neck where it is warmer. My husband calls that one the vampire move. :lol:
