Building my viv, almost done!

Hey all!

So it looks like I am definitely adopting Splicky and Jabba! I have been hard at work building a viv.

It's 7 feet long, 2 feet tall, 2 feet deep. I'm trying to figure out how to post pictures on here, but no luck so far.

Just got the tile! It's going to be awesome! I have to do a bit of a rush on it, since the (old) owners are going away on vacation soon, but it's really coming together! The front is screen, have you guys ever done it this way? I may upgrade later to a plexi, sliding/hinged door idea.

Ok, photos are up. It's going to be a bit picture heavy though, sorry!

(figured I'd better trim that bottom piece to make it a bit nicer)

So now I just have to snazz up the inside a bit, but I figure I can do that as we go. I'd also like to see how the temperatures are- I may end up closing in the top if it becomes a power consumption concern keeping it warm.
I also have a 24" repti-GLO coming with it, and I plan on replacing it with a Repti-SUN post-haste, along with another 48" to boot.

Issues with a screen front is that 1) they can/will try to climb it and could get their claws stuck and end up yanking off a toe. 2) if they like to nose rub on it to try to get out, you could end up with some raw/bloody noses.

You may also want to consider a divider, and make it 2 vivs. Beardies aren't exactly known for their sociability.

Actually, I came home today to find Jabba relaxing up on the top edge of the front, looking at me like "What? I've always done this, what are you talking about?" So yea, he can climb it. I'm going to get clear plexi for the front, and close the top in using the screen. Might put vents in the side depending upon the temps, it does get pretty warm in the house even with the heat off right now.

I quit using the CHE today, I thought about it and the house doesn't get below 65-70 at night, so why have it on right? Might make it noticeable to them that it is indeed morning a bit more too, lazy bums! lol

Yeah, you don't really need it if your house isn't getting that low.

Lol yea, they've been so tired yesterday evening, and then all day today, figured they might be getting a bit warm
