I am VERY interested in building something like this for my 40gallon breeder. I seem to always change my little guys tank because I keep getting new ideas. What would I need to buy to do something like this? If you can name everything including what you use to cut etc that would be great!

I don't need to build the tank sense I want to try this in my 40gallon breeder. So I guess I would just need to know about what you did on the inside.

Things you need.
polystyrene foam - Home Depot
Pl300 Foam Board glue - Home Depot
unsanded Polyblend grout - Home Depot
Grout coloring. I used liquid cement coloring "terracotta" color - Home Depot
all surface sealer, im using matte modge podge - craft/ sewing store

I just used a 12" saw blade to cut the foam, taped one end for a handle.

I got the styrofoam already the exact kind you said so thats good. Got 6 four foot pieces for 7$ at Home Depot. Not including the foam, how much you think that will all cost me? & I don't want to bother you if you don't want to its no problem. But if you can, can you tell me exactly how to do it, I have a post on here I made yesterday asking step by step procedure if you can maybe look at it & help me out with that.
I read up things n watched videos but I rather have one of your inputs cuz I trust you all more

Yea I checked that site out the other day. I change our tanks alot. I think its fun like building your own little town (even though it can cause them stress but mine never seem to mind). & atm I just got done cutting & sanding Vinyl tiles & putting them down. I'm happy with how it came out. So I'm going to keep that and I'm sure in a week or two when I want something else, I'll jump to the Styrofoam project lol. But thx everyone!

If you are going to use the ModPodge make sure you test it first. I used the matte version on mine and it was still way too shiny. Needless to say I have a birch/poplar cage that is 75% complete with a custom rock background free to anyone in the Houston area that wants it....Just cant get used to the look of the sealer so I am starting over.

That looks really good. Mine is about as simple as it gets with my hideout, hammock, chaise, and two cacti. Oh yeah and rock. But there not big so there's like two feet of bare space lol.
