Buddy's Sick :( *Update 12/29*

Oh I am sorry about the worms but hopefully the meds just need time to flush the rest of them out.Now on to the fun stuff,Buddy is such a cutie!I cant believe how big he got.I also cant believe he lets you hold him.Snappers are not known for their warm fuzzy attitude so it must be Gina magic

Vicky, I'm as shocked as you are that he allows me to hold, pet, stroke, and clean him. Of the almost 4 months that I had him, Buddy only snapped at me once - when I was rubbing the top of his neck to wash him - but he didn't bite and retreated when I tapped on the top of his nose. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd ever be holding a snapper - much less be able to pet his head and rub his chin :mrgreen:

Oh, by the way, he WAS sulking after the vet visit. He barely hid today.

One thing about tape worms, the things you see as they pass through are not "worms". They are segments of the worm. Usually there is only 1 and they get huge, I saw one in a jar once out of a human that was 22 feet! As they grow, they shed the last few segments of their body. Your animal will always be hungry, due to the parasite consuming all of the nutrition your turtle is eating as it goes through the intestine. The meds will poison and kill the tapeworm, and then the turtle will pass it out.
Before long that turtle's attitude towards fingers will change. Be careful!
