BSF

I bought a 500 count of bsfl for my Rocky(3/4 yo female). She liked them ok and went through a couple hundred before they started to morph. Now I have a couple hundred BSF I have read she can have the adult flies so I tossed a handful in her enclosure and she went nuts. I havent seen her that interested in a live feeder in quite a while. So my question is how is the nutrition of the BSF are they comparable to bsfl? Are they more of a treat or can it be a meal?

The flies are lower in fat (they do not eat and burn fat stored as larvae for energy) and low in calcium (most of the calcium remains in the pupal case. Thy are excellent enrichment and find to feed as long as you maintain good calcium supplement elsewhere in the diet.
