Brumination or sickness?

I have a bearded dragon that is about 1.5 years old. Lately he hasn't been looking like he did, because his eyes look droopy and somewhat bloodshot. He is shedding his head, and had puffy eyes. Now his eyes look sunken in, droopy, and bloodshot. I've noticed he's not making as much of an effort to catch crickets (though I do see him eat), and he's not using the bathroom regularly. I'm wondering if this is natural in winter, or a sickness we need to address.

The sunken eyes isn't a sign of brumation. This sounds more like illness to me. Can you provide more info regarding housing, lights, temps, diet, supplementation? But a vet exam sounds reasonable.

He is in a 40 gallon breeder tank, the temp now is 82. (It's winter) he eats crickets and salad with either kale and lettuce or a mix of both. He really used to enjoy the kale but now he's eating less salad too.

The temp is 82? What exactly does this mean? What is his basking temperature?

Could you give us a run down of your lights, temps, and mode of acquiring your temperatures? Also maybe tell us a little bit about his diet and substrate and last bowel movement? This information will help everyone with a little more insight as to what may be causing your dragon illness.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
