Hi everyone!
I have a few questions about brumation as I am a bit worried about my beardie. A bit of background:
Stumpy has been with me for 16 months, he was a tiny hatchling when I got him so it is safe to assume that's how old he is.
Over past week he started eating less and less and finally three days ago he stopped eating at all. He had a big tank coverd with bits of coconut shells (prefer it over bark) so 2-3 days ago he just lied down on the cool side of the tank nearly all covered under the shells - he has bene there ever since. He is awake most of the day (or at least when I am back from work in the evening) but doesn't move. He sleeps longer hours as well.
I leave him a bit of water and veg+some lettuce but doesn't look like he ate anything so far.
Yesterday evening I have decided to turn off the light and UV a few hours earlier - wanted to know if that's the right thing.
My questions are:
-if that indeed is brumation should I still keep food and water ready? I know that each berdie brumates diffrently.
- should I leave the light and UV on? the tank is next to a radiator and we are still have the heating on so he will be warp in there.
- what else am I missing? :?
Just want to make sure I won't hurt him, and as it is my(his hehe) first brumation I am a bit petrified about what to do...
Appreciate all the help
