Brumation question

So Ozzi, my beardie, is just over a year old (maybe 13 months?) and I’m pretty sure he’s in brumation. He stays in his hide underneath the newspaper I use and just... sleeps (it weirds me out because he’s my first beardie). When I check on him he wakes up and when I take him out he eventually is fully alert, but then he goes back to sleep. Today is his 14th day of sleeping in a row. I took him out to give him a bath and weigh him today and it seems he’s GAINED weight??? Right before he went down I weighed him and got 13.73 ounces and today I got 14.53 ounces? I weighed him after his bath, so maybe that’s it?
It’s funny, Ozzi has become a routine thing in my life. I always wake up and lean out of bed and we stare at each other until I’m ready to get up, I always say hi/bye when I’m in or leaving my room, and hang out with him at the end of the day. I have a cat that always sits on top of or near his tank to watch him and even she seems sad that he’s not out and about (she’s almost always sitting on the chair next to his tank). And it’s summer so I was excited to take him outside a bit and hang out more before I go back to school. But now he’s sleeping —.— bleeeeeh
Anyways sorry to go on about nothing. Honestly, I read an article that answered most of my questions while I was writing them out, but I felt like doing something that at least felt constructive haha
Thanks for bearing with me :p

I promise you, a bath didn't put almost an ounce (6%) of his body weight on him. I assume he's been eating--even if only occasionally--during these 2 weeks. Brumation slows down metabolism (not that reptiles have speedy ones to begin with... ). When he wakes up for real (end of the brumation) he may divest all that he's been "hanging on to" if you catch my drift...

That's cool, but try not to anthropomorphize too much. He's a reptile, and reptiles definitely don't think like humans. Read up on :study: (Google) the reptile brain.

Your BD sees your cat as a predator. Your cat sees your lizard as prey or something to play with/torture to death, period. Please don't ever think anything different. Use the search facility in the upper right corner, search cat and read the (seemingly countless) threads.

BDs are cool, cats are cool--but they don't mix.

Good Luck, and Best Wishes to All of You! :)

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
