Brumation or sick?

My beardie is about 3 years old and I got him just before the summer so it’s my first time dealing with brumation. Since end of October, Didymus has been lazy and eating barely, touched his veg maybe every couple days that I’ve witnessed and doesn’t eat many worms. He seems like he might be losing weight and only pooped twice since he started this. He seems alert when I’m near or give him a bath and His temps are correct and he occasionally will bask. I feel like it’s brumation but how long is it supposed to last? Should I bring him to the vet just in case?

It sounds consistent with brumation. They act drowsy like they are on sleeping pills, lose appetite, and generally just aren't as energetic as usual. It's important that you keep track of his weight though. Using a kitchen scale you can keep a chart and watch how it's trending. Small fluctuations are normal but the general trend should be stable during brumation because they slow their metabolism and tap their stored resources.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
