I have 2 rescues from the pet store both had bad worms and URI and were treated for and show no signs of either now thankfully, temps are all good new reptisun bulbs (less than a month old).

they pretty much sleep, with short wake up times. neither has lost weight (feed babyfood cause they wont eat on there own) have norm poop, will eat bugs sometimes on own but not near what i see others here eating, will NOT touch greens both spit them out and stomp and "yell" at me.My female is shedding (patchy with a not so good shed on tail im watching) both get baths every other day, and are active (Thorn likes to think hes a fishy and is a bit dumb thinks he can inhale water gotta hold his head up) Im thinking they were in brumation when i got them and havent come all the way out yet. Thorn is slowly getting more active but Rose is a log lump 90% of the time, both bask both go in there hides (I have to take Rose out to bask she had URI bad and i dont want it to come back)

So how long do i wait till they "wake up" ? Whats the general time of year they start becoming active? Both play when its outside the tank time and are active i have my lights on a timer 6:45am till 8:00pm shuold i make the lights on longer? they both are sleeping long before they go out at night.

Sigh... I weighed them today my male has lost 30grams my female lost 5 grams just in a weeks time :( Back to twice a day babyfood again really wish they would get better, between worms and URI im going nuts trying to make them well. Ill start reptaid again and feed more often and more amounts hope they start eating soon....

Any input would be lovely

Tanks 45gall and 55 gall
temps in both are 107 basking 95 hot 75-80 cool
reptisun florescent lights brand new 6-8 inches from logs (they are on a slant)
tile flooring
fuzzy blankies
small sand digging boxes (less than 1 cup sand and they mostly poop in them LOL )

Foods offered daily (not that they eat it)
collard greens
mustard greens
summer squash (will only eat if cut in strips and wiggled at them)
sweet tatters

Dubia roaches ( they run from them)
hornworms when i can afford them
once in a while super worms

What they actually eat
baby food squash mixed with chicken with a bit of calcium with d3 and vitamins ( mixed every other feeding)
about 3 teaspoons by syringe daily for the male (24 inches tip of nose to tip of tail, 665 grams)
about 5 teaspoons by syringe daily for the female (17 inches long tip of tail to tip of nose, 524 grams)

Hi there....brumation time is nerve racking for many owners, and I can see your concern since they had both been ill. I have brumated many dragons over almost 18 years, but I live where the winters are cold, so my beardies do a true, reduced temp. sleep at 60 -65 degrees with lights out. I imagine that this is hard to do in some areas, but it's probably the most natural, with hardly ever waking. They sleep about 3 months, give or take a week or 2 generally. With normal range tank temps. that you have, it's like they want to sleep, but the temps. keep them partially awake, or awake part of the time. I wouldn't worry about feeding them a bit, as a matter of fact, the 17" is somewhat overweight, so you an just let her eat when she gets her appetite back. The male is huge, and sounds about right for his size. They are worrying you for nothing ! LOL ! Baths can be done twice a week if your'e worried, they should be plenty hydrated.

For sick beardies, if they are sleeping in their hides, I would remove them. You can give them back at night, so that they have somewhere dark to sleep, but don't allow them to hide during the day. Their instinct in the wild would be to hide when ill so that they don't get eaten, but since nothing is going to eat them in their vivs, they can and should be out in the open, basking as much as possible.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
