Khomez woke up today, super excited! Although there's one problem.... He lost a ton of weight  , and when I was giving him a few supers to get his digestive cycle going again, he would stop and close his eyes, like he was in pain, his eyes also looked like they might be watering. I'm not sure what's wrong because when he went into brumation he was in perfect health. I'm going to bring him tithe vet but I'm not sure where any reptile vets around here, maybe Banfield? I'm not sure....

How much weight did he lose, and how much did he weigh before brumation?

Most of them won't start eating again for another month or so after they wake up. The males all go through a insane hormonal stage, where they decide head bobbing and black bearding is much more important than food. Dud has been up for over a week now, and all I could get him to eat was 2 small roach nymphs. Now he can't sit still, and he is entering the insanity stage LOL.

Last year between brumation and hormonal crazies, he went from 530 to 460 grams. This year he started at 550 grams, and when I weighed him a few weeks ago he was 500. He is probably a bit less now though. Dud is a chubbers, so he can easily lose quite a bit of weight and still be perfectly healthy. Losing some weight during brumation is actually good for them, because it burns some of their fat stores and helps prevent fatty liver.

He was around 470g, I haven't check his actual weight yet, but when you look at him he seems skinny. But weight is not my biggest concern, its the whole looking like hes in pain, Does dudley ever shut his eye(s) and it look likes its watering? I'll see if I can get him into the petsmart banfield near my house, I saw an ad first time patiences check ups are free :D

If he is annoyed at me and doesn't want the food I'm giving him, he will shut his eyes like he's trying to block me out. They haven't watered before though.

I might have just been imagining it, like light reflecting off his eye. I took Khomez out(he's actually on my chest right now XD) and he seems fine, SUPER energetic! He got behind my Tv and was jumping on stuff  so we went into my basement. Do beardies loose the natural instinct to breed at a certain age? Because I haven't seen him back beard since... About 2 years ago

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
