Hello! My bearded dragon Bobby is 2 and a half years old
He went into brumation last year in around mid October. he gave me quite the scare at first, but after researching just the general info I'm more prepared for him to this year. I did take him to the vet last year, and they gave him some fluids and made sure he was healthy, and he was. He was then allowed to continue brumation
Now that it is early October, a few questions have appeared because his behavior is slightly different than what he did last year.
•he is spending a little more time on his cool side and is starting to eat less. Last year he would not stop eating. Is this normal?
•he was in brumation for around a month last year. I do not know if that is normal, but should I expect him to go into brumation around the same time he did last year and for the same amount of time as well?
His blanket is another thing that I have a couple questions about. I recently gave him an old dish towel (he can not get his nails stuck in this material) after cleaning it. He is very protective of it. Whenever I take it to clean it he will get very mad (which is very funny in my opinion) he will run over to me and start stomping his foot while bobbing his head and his beard will turn black. He will do this until I give it back to him. Is he just very fond of it? He also sleeps with it every night. If he wishes to sleep somewhere where he had not slept before, he will go choose his spot and go back to where his blanket was, and pick it up by his mouth and drag it to where he wants to sleep. He will then snuggle under it. Is all of this normal?
