Broken Basking light

My 6 year old daughter tripped and broke the basking light today and I can't get another one until Friday night when my hubby gets home and paid Is there anything I can use in the meantime that will help. Can I use a regular light bulb for now or even the direct sunlight, I can take Harry outdoors. I just want to be sure I am not hurting him by not being able to get the light for 4 days.

Did you break the basking light or the UVB light? They are different lights.

Basking light- Yes, you can just use a regular household bulb. In fact, you can use regular household bulbs forever! They only provide heat, after all. Just make sure they arent coil.

UVB bulb- You need to get a new one asap.(make sure it's ReptiSUN 10.0 tube) Until you can go get one or it gets shipped, you can take him outside to get sun.

It was his basking light! Thanks for the info he will be getting new lights on Friday and he is outdoors every day anyway so I should be ok. I was a little worried!! You made me feel so much better
