Bringing Leila on a plane? Doubt it right? Talk to me =)

I just did massive research and totally get different answers regarding reptiles. I searched the forum and found some old posts regarding bringing a beardie on a plane. I called the airlies but due to (for lack of a better word) out sourcing, they don't quite get me and i don't.

Has anyone taken their beardie as a carry on (legally not hidden in your rack, yes I saw that post i love the idea but I'm still thin with D's and feel it may not work lol)?

Any airlines I could check out? I fly Spirit montly so they'd be my 1st pick.

Any suggestions overall?

Some mention in the cargo bay.

I've checked airlines with regard to reptiles a few times before, and it seems they only allow dogs and cats to be taken onto airplanes (either checked or as carry-ons). I don't claim to know everything, though.

Here is what i need to find out.

What checkpoints do they check you are ALLOWED to bring the animal on the plane.

Like for example, at baggage you can totally hide the carrier, and at security they have no idea if you are brining and animal. If you bring the carrier on it's not printed on your ticket is it??

The ONLY people I would have to hide the carrier and animal from is the luggage drop off when you get there and/or the ticket counter before you board the plane.

So here's my next question. When you fly carry on with an animal do they pit it on your ticket, how do they check you should have the animal or not?? I know at secuirty they just inspect the case.

I have a friend that flys her little dog for free all the time in the cabin with her, but shes in brazil for 4 months so I won't be asking her how she hides the dog lol.

Wow, I don't know how she'd get to take a dog for free. Even if the animal is in the cabin, usually there's still a fee involved.

I don't know about trying to sneak a beardie on the plane. I'd think it would be pretty obvious on the x-ray scanners if nothing else. And the way people typically react to reptiles, you might get into some serious trouble if they catch you.

I asked her about security and sneaking her dog on. At the security check point they have no idea if you're allowed to have the animal on the plane or not. So she goes through the usual process there with the dog as if she were allowed.

She hides the dog all the way to her seat from security, then after they are in the air the dog's head is allowed out. I understand how she does it but i need to understand what points do they check to see if the animal is allowed. That's where I need to hide Leila. Oncec on the plane if I keep her in a carrier no one is the wiser as to what's in there.
