Brighter color while he's sleeping...?

I've had my beardie for about a week now and I've noticed that he turns this really nice tan color, almost sandfire, but he really does take on This Coloration. But he only turns this color when he's sleeping! Whenever he's awake or when I'm holding him, he turns his colors a lot darker. Here's a picture of him
Is it normal for them to be a lighter color when they are sleeping? Or is he a darker color because it's his first week in a totally new environment and he's stressed?

Totally normal Mine have always looked their prettiest in their sleep, LOL. Its just because there isnt anything to stress them out in their sleep... Unless they have a nightmare. :wink:

Yeah I noticed this about my beardie as well. She looks sand coloured when she sleeps or dozes. I am quite pleased because she is light right now and she is awake. Although that may be because she has just had a glut of roaches :/

Dudley is multi-tasking by napping and basking at the same time (He has skills, especially for a male ) so he is pretty happy and light colored right now. When he sleeps though, he is a really pretty yellow-pinkish color with some purple.

my little man goes that beautiful sand colour when he's sleeping and also when he's normally messing about and basking.
He only really does a darker shade when he's stressed.
