I know now that Miss Buddy is a girl for sure. My mom had the idea to breed her. I need personal experience and opinions PLEASE:) how old should she be? How TO breed her? Where to get the male and how to tell if she is going to lay. If I do get another beardie, it will be in June, July or August. Please answer!! Thanks! :)

She should ideally be two years before being bred and most breeders also own the male. Be prepared to spend A LOT on raising babies, money you won't be making back unless you raise hundreds of high end morphs.
You will need multiple cages with all the proper lighting, a reptile vet in case mom or babies get sick or egg bound. A endless supply of small feeders, roaches work best for this as they breed quickly. A back up plan for any babies that don't sell, a plan on how to handle deformed babies.
One female dragon can potentially lay 75+ eggs in one season, thats a lot of food and cages. If your mom is interested in breeding for profit, its really not a good idea.
You need to also consider the toll it takes on the female and whether you want to risk her health.

Thank you Gail! We just talked about it and decided not to, I think I'll just get another dragon at Petsmart :) thanks for the info.

Good to hear. It really is quite the under taking, more then most people realize.

Glad you've taken Gail's advice.

I'd also recomemd looking for a small breeder rather than petsmart where the quality of what you are buying is likely to be poor and increase the chance of getting into problems.

Hi everyone! Long time no see on this forum! A few questions:

1. How old are dragons usually when they lay eggs?

2. Will Miss Buddy lay infurtle eggs when she gets older?

Thanks in advance!! :blob5:

From what I've read, 12-18mo is a reasonable bet. It's likely but not a given that she will lay infertile eggs. Just look out for the signs (including digging behavior etc) and have a dig box ready for her.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
