Breeding leatherbacks

I have a red female trans leatherback that I got from a petsmart only because she was like $40. I also have a orange normal who has both leatherback parents which I actually saw in person. I was wondering what the percentages for the babies would be(how many normals, silkies, leatherback) If anybody can give me a chart or if you can figure the percentages out, that would be great. Thanks!

You wouldn't get any silkies. A bit over a third of them would likely be leatherbacks.

Wouldn't I have close to 100% het for leatherbacks though? It just seems strange that I would end up with 1/3 leatherbacks from a leatherback X 100% het leatherback pairing?

Leatherback and het. for leatherback are different. I was only referring to the actual amount of leatherbacks you'd get, not the amounts of het and visible.

Got it. I haven't bred beardies yet or played around with genetics yet. I just looked around and saw that if you breed a leatherback with a normal you get 50% leatherbacks that are visible. My male has the leatherback pattern and semi smooth scales but isn't a full leatherback. Thanks you for your commentary!

Leatherback can be co-dominant or recessive. The parents of the both were co-dominant so I figured he should have 100% het for leatherback

If it's the co-dominant form it will always show, there is no non-visible het if I understand the gene right. I could be way off base. In the case of codom morphs two copies of the genes creates often creates a "super" form, in this case silkies. The original Leather + leather would give normals (no gene) leathers (heterozygous) and silks (homozygous)

You will still get leathers since the one parent has the gene, but it would be mostly normals.

Leathers but it would be good to get some red silkies just to keep up with expenses. I know leather x leather is 50% leather 25%silkie 25%normal . I was just wondering what the percentages for the het leather x leather would be
