Breeding Dubias

A local store has dubias (1 male : 3 females) for $6.99. So I get 4 roaches and keep a 1:3 ratio. If i were to get 10x of that (10 males : 30 females), how long do you think it would take for them to begin breeding and for me to have enough to sustain 1 dragon and my colony? (possibly 2 dragons, as a friend wants to buy some from me as well). Also, if there is a cheaper way to get some breeders, that would work out for me too. But I don't really need a mass bulk of breeders, so I figure this is a pretty cheap and good route to go for me.

Within the last month, we also just started a dubia breeder colony. We are only feeding one 3-4 month dragon and plan to not feed off any of our breeder colony for a minimum of 2 months, possibly 3 depending on how it does.

I have bought from the link below twice now and have been pleased with what they sent.

Almost the same amount (30F:9M) from them should cost around half of what you would be paying locally ($30 + shipping).

One dragon is almost 2 (mine) and my friends is probably <6 months old. So mine wouldn't need all that many, since I feed him 3x a week for crickets and salad every day. I figured a month or so would be about what it takes.

We order our dubia from dubideli as well. Definitely better off starting your colony from there and will save you some money as well. To have a successful colony it's better to start off with one of there starter colonies and just add however more adult males and females you need to have a good ratio. Plus their colonies come with different age stages of the dubias which helps sustain a healthy colony and also gives you feeders along the way. The last batch of adults we ordered from there actually produced babies the next day so we were lucky and already had a few females ready to go. It does take some time to get them going and producing enough to be having feeders and new ones getting to the reproductive stages to eventually take the place of breeders and the cycle continues. They are social so you do want enough of the nymphs to balance the colony without overcrowding. Also keep in mind oranges help stimulate them to breed. Good luck!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
