OKay, so if my dragon is pregnant, She is a common I got technically from my sister in law but she got her from scales and tails. I bought a citrus male and I want to know what the babies will look like since they are going to be half and half.

I heard that the, "Pet shop commons" Have half citrus and fire in the already. I would assume my female has fire in her since she has a bright orange beard. My citrus is yellow everywhere under his belly and his beard. Pretty much the same color yellow aside from his lavender bars.

Will the babies most likely end up looking like the mom, having a brown body and just a colored head? Or is it just the luck of the draw?

I thought I may get some that were like the mother a lot and some that were a lot like the father?

Thanks world,

SD

You won't get truly consistent results from ANY breeding. Bearded dragon 'morphs' aren't consistent genetically in the way that, say, a dun horse is. They're just names given to dragons with specific coloration and/or from specific bloodlines.

In general though you can expect some babies that look like their mother, some that look like their father, and most somewhere in the middle, with a random assortment of traits inherited from grandparents etc. which make them resemble NEITHER parent.

Honestly you're likely to just get a bunch of very normal looking dragons with some yellow on them.

So I was told the male was purchased from a place called dragonsden.

If that's the case then would that change anything considering places like that try and keep the lines "pure"?

Of course I would have better luck if the female was a citrus too?

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
