This is basically just for fun because I'm curious. I got my bearded dragon from Pet Smart so I didn't get much information about him. Only thing they told me was that Julien is a "fancy bearded dragon". I just wanted to know specifically. (I mean he's obviously not a leather back or anything because he has spikes) Anyway here are a few pictures maybe someone can tell me. (Unrelated he's 10in)

He's a happy looking normal dragon. I believe "Fancy Bearded Dragon" is Petsmart's brand name. A bit deceptive in my opinion, but as long as they're healthy and find good homes that's the important thing.

no the "fancy" ones are usually random colored ones, i've seen citrus and some nice reds labeled as fancy ones, usually about 10 bucks more.

Sure is proud looking! Great pics.
Whatever he is mine is almost identical, seems to be the Petsmart special.
My only advice - don't take advice from Petsmart :p
Even some of the employees who claim to own lizards/reptiles gave me very poor advice.
Mines about 6 months old and unfortunately I've yet to take him to the vet or get a stool test which I hope to soon.
From what I've read these guys often have parasites from the stores such as petsmart.

Buddy is mine, I got him from petsmart as well. Labelled "fancy" but I don't know...looks exactly like yours! They told me he was 4 months old, but I actually think he may be younger.

He probably is. You can roughly tell the age by their measurements.
Length (Inches) Age (Months)
3-4 in. 0-1 months.
5-9 in. 2 months.
8-11 in. 3 months.
9-12 in. 4 months.
11-16 in. 5 months.
11-18 in. 6 months.
13-20 in. 8 months.

When my mom told me I was getting a beardie from Pet Smart I was scared because I knew they mistreated their animals. My little Julien was the only one who wasn't sick looking and he actually followed my finger when I moved it back and fourth. He is missing most of his toes on one of his back feet (left I think) and one of the nails in the front. But with extra care he healed fine. The employee who spoke with me just told me everything I already knew.

Oh my! That's unfortunate. Not surprising though, I've seen horrifying videos on YouTube of the Petsmart mills animals come from. Deplorable conditions. I won't be too graphic lol, but don't watch them.
The missing toes seem to happen fairly often, so many reasons and not all avoidable.
Sometimes shedding problems that can be hard to notice cause them to nip at their own toes.
They always seem to get on fine though if they're cared for like any other healthy beardie! Toes or no toes they're pretty resilient creatures and he'll probably still love to climb. They're incredibly strong, my guy just loves hanging on my shirt or leg while I walk around the house and do my thing. Just be careful when you take your new beardie out of the tank. They have poor depth perception so in time you might notice him making leaps. My guy has jumped off my shoulder straight to the ground many times, not sure where he thought he was going but luckily no injuries yet! Totally bounced off the counter the other day when I was walking through the kitchen when he took another leap of faith.
They do require supervision so be prepared to watch him while he's free roaming. Eventually you'll notice they tend to go to the same area

I was beginning to wonder why he tried to just such impossible heights. And yeah I have noticed that he tends to roam in the same direction.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
