Boston area vet?

Can anyone recommend a good herp vet in the Boston area, accessible by public transportation? My lizards have been to Angell Memorial for checkups, but Angell does not have a herp vet at present.

There are sites with recommendations but most are very old.

My immediate concern is a leopard gecko (who has a sore on her nose, advice welcome) but my bearded dragon is due for a checkup. adTHANKSvance!

Hi there...I don't know if this will help, but try www.herpvetconnection.com. For the sore on your leo's nose, you might try a bit of unpasteurized [ raw ] honey. If you know the difference, it's not the regular honey , it's darker, and it will say raw on the bottle. It's a natural antibacterial/antibiotic. You can dilute a very small amount with warm water, literally less than 1/4 teaspoon, and apply several times daily. You have to be sure not to leave any crickets in the tank, of course, they would be attracted and nibble at the honey. I always have it on hand for eating, using in tea, on cereal and great for a sore throat or cough, plus it can be stored room temp. for long periods.

Thank you. www.herpvetconnection.com does not have any I could get to. Angell Memorial is supposed to have a herp vet starting "in the fall" in case anyone else is wondering. (I plan to take the geckos and bearded dragon there then.) They recommended two clinics that I can't get to. There are other clinics that claim to treat reptiles but I have heard of dog/cat vets giving reptiles medicines that harmed them.

I got some raw honey and will try it. Crickets are not a problem; my lizards (all 9 years old) get superworms, which I remove if not eaten.
