hey guys so lately ive been having issues with my bearded dragon being stubborn and not eating all of his crickets he'll eat his salad and anything else perfectly fine usually its a peice of raspberry lol but lately he's getting less enthusiastic about eating his crickets

hes a baby so, im not sure what else i can feed him he's about 3 months maybe four, his tail is also looking alot duler than normal so i'm thinking he might be going through a second shed.... or finishing his first one since i've had him lol.....

so anyone have any ideas on how to make him more interested in his crickets.

btw i feed him dead crickets but their fresh from the fridge and recently live i guess... any ideas ??

I would but unfortunately that's not my choice our land lords one condition to ud getting a reptile was that we don't feed love crikets ( the land lord is my bfs gramma ) so I have no choice on that I was thinking meal worms but I keep hearing that their bad for baby beardies so I'm at a loss ... :(

Can you get some of the other worms? Like pheonix worms or silkworms? Your dragon may need the movement to really go for the bugs.

I doubt roaches will be an easier sell than crickets...

Any of the feeder bugs can be found online, just google what your looking for.

The little dubia are really no harder than crickets I would estimate. The adult, are hard, but too big for a baby dragon anyway.

I agree with Taterbug that dubia may be a hard sell. Dubia are actually easy to keep contained unlike crickets. Keeping them in a Rubbermaid container with some Vaseline around the inside at top makes it next to impossible for them to climb out. I have yet to have any escape from my feeder bins. Overall the worms may be the best option for you.

I will second the worms.
I had one cup of ~300 reptiworms for about two weeks for dinner feedings. My beardie was a little hot and cold about them the first few days. Once he got used to them, though, he ate them with gusto. ( Just... watch out for how quick he eats them... our first morning afterward a live one crawled out of his droppings. >.> We made sure he took it a bit slower after that. )

Anyhoo, our experience with reptiworms was pretty good.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
