Hi,
My beardie, Malys, has been brumating and i've noticed for the last month or so when she's awake that her eyelids on the right were not meeting up properly and i believe that was only due to shedding some skin. The other eye was the same until i was able to get some skin away from her eye in the bath. When i came home tonight there was a piece of dead skin that was hanging off her eyelid so i gently rubbed it away. (she's been fully awake for a few days).
On that same eye there seemed to be a dark spot on the top eyelid that didn't look familiar. After inspecting, it appears to be a small reddish blood spot, like a bruise. The skin isn't broken. when i rub her eye she presses into my thumb like she does when she's shedding and she has some eye-pop. I've called any qualified vets in the area and they can't see her until Monday at the earliest and i'm going away on Sunday (I do have someone who will take her if needed). After considering what could've caused it (I do have a cat but her tank didn't appear to have been broken into and my cat's not that curious about her and also used to her), and seeing how hard she rubbed her eye on my thumb, I think she may have tried rubbing it on something in her tank that may have caused it. She's a healthy 6-yr old, other wise. I have a picture but i have to read your posting rules first, but i'd appreciate your opinions. Possibly caused by aggressive rubbing to get rid of skin?
