Blood in Urate/Poop!

Hello,

Personally at that size & age, subcutaneous fluids under the shoulder area, etc would be much safer than doing coelomic abdominal fluids. Unless the vet is experienced in that it is best not to take the chance.
Thursday is soon so hopefully they will be able to get a fecal from him. I am thinking he has worms/parasites, etc which could be causing the blood in the stool.
At least he is nice & bright in colors & you are doing great getting him enough light between outdoor & indoor, too.
Is he taking the food any better today?

Hi Tracie,

Thank you for your reply and answers to my question. I am sorry for the slow reply. We have been really busy. We just got back from the vet. The vet said Kadaj does have Coccidia and Pin Worms. Hes been put on Panacur and Pyrantel Pamoate. The Panacur is 0.1 ml daily for 3 days and the other one is 0.1ml/weekly for 4 weeks. The vet also noticed dehydration and easy bruising. Which she recommended a warm bath twice a day 10 minutes each bath for duration of treatments.

I really really hope this will get him fixed back up along with a boosted appetite.

Hello,

That is too bad he has pinworms & coccidia. Poor Kadaj, I hope he is feeling better soon.
Hopefully he wont mind the warm baths, either. That should help out quite a bit with hydration, too.
Luckily, the meds shouldn't be too harsh on him, either.

Let us know how he is doing.

The vet tech told me pinworms I thought but just reading through the take home packet, it says round worms how embarassing!
