Occasionally Lucky has what looks like a little bit of blood in his poop. Lucky is about 9.5 months old, 637g and almost 21". He eats mainly superworms, medium dubia and baby food squash (with a few munches of collards when I can get him to). He never had any of the blood in his stool until the superworms were introduced (a couple of months ago). But I can't get him to only eat dubia. He is turning his nose up at the dubia lately, and then grabs the superworms so quickly that he almost bit through the plastic feeder tongs. I have tried to dig out the freshly molted worms so that they are not as hard, but there aren't enough of those to satisfy him.
I have noticed the blood a few times - it will occur for maybe a day or two every couple of weeks, and then disappear. It is a very small amount. The poop is surprisingly NOT smelly (I remember the cocchidia overload smell and it was NASTY). I am wondering if this just occurs with superworms when the voracious dragon does not chew them well enough so the hard shells hurt his bowels or vent area. Otherwise he is a very healthy seeming dragon - rarely beards, runs around on the floor, climbs, jumps, loves looking out the window, very curious about everything.
I will make a check up vet appointment in any case, but was wondering about others' experiences.
