So the decision was completely up to Carl, because Xena was his babygirl, and I know no-one else in the world can ever replace her... but he has always wanted to raise a baby dragon, seeing as how 3 of our 4 are rescues, and adults when we took them in...

So darn if they aren't totally like, well as fresnowitte says, P-R-I-N-G-L-E-S-!

So Carl picked out his baby... it'll take a little while to name her, we have to see her personality. Welcome into our hearts, little one... almost 14 inches / 166 grams / crazy hyper personality so far ...

As soon as we got her out of the packaging, she made a bee-line for my son's leg & pancaked out, so CJ got the first real snuggles, he's my little seatwarmer:

Look at that sweet face:

111210-bg05.jpg

Ooh, soft, what's this?
111210-bg06.jpg

Yum, salad... nom nom nom...
111210-bg07.jpg

Hey, lady, I cleaned my plate, can I have more?...
111210-bg08.jpg

Oh, wait, ...
um, what else was I gonna say? ...
Oh, yeah,

There's MORE!

I had to crop that first picture, look really closely...

did you look really really close?
???
Really?

Barbara was worrying about finding this little guy a special home, and Carl fell in love with him/her too... so he's our "little guy/gal"... Quasi now looks huge, and Crash looks like Godzilla compared to these two!

So meet little guy / 60 grams / 11 inches ... so laid back, just watches everything going on, and eats and eats and eats (hand-fed salad today  )

Just a little stress going from Cali to Ohio...
111210-lg07.jpg

Bath time! This little one loves to swim already!

Ooh, what's this?
111210-lg10.jpg

111210-lg11.jpg

Ooh, what's up here -- slowly progressed up the branches, then just watched us and all the activity in the room for about an hour...

aww, its 8:25 a.m. here, and we're off to the doc appt ... he's so adorable sleeping with his pillow (such a different picture from him all blackbearded and stomping "I want woman!") I took a pic with my phone, but its really dark and fuzzy... trying to keep livingroom dark...

just got Xray results from Carl's hip -- he needs to see an orthopaedic surgeon asap, he has a mass/lump that is pressing on his femoral artery. I am going to start hunting people down so we can get either an MRI or a CT scan to determine whether its a femoral hernia or a femoral aneurysm. WTH?!? If its not one thing its another...

Hi Dawn, sorry to hear the bad news, how long does it take to get an MRI in your area? Can you find a specialist quickly, as it sounds like it's an emergency! Please keep me posted.

Glad to hear that Draco calmed down enough to sleep, wonder what he'll get up to today!

I'll be watching your thread to hear good news, I hope, about getting an MRI & getting him to a specialist, don't want to food around with that kind of situation.
Hugs
Deb

I got Carl in his recliner, ordered him to "stay"... he is a difficult patient, he wants to do stuff and help... ugh. Told him stay put or else.

I am going to make some phone calls, even tho his pain mgmt doc already contacted the one Ortho Surgeon, and will send the xray results, I'm going to push it thru to get further testing asap. I'll let you know as I know more.

Sounds like Draco is giving you some needed laughter.

Do you really think you can get Carl to sit still and stay put?
Hope he has a good day without much pain.

Hugs and Snuggles!

Oh gosh, poor Carl. Hope you'll be able to find a specialist soon and get whatever is in his hip out to alleviate the pain.
If he won't stay put in the recliner, tell him that you'll strap him in

Gina, is there no-one who can watch over your babies, your parents, maybe? Just for the 3 days? It's a shame to not go to a training seminar if you can manage it.
My parents are more than willing to take my babies in for 3 days, but it's alot to move 5 kids' worth of stuff. I'll need a U-Haul!

I just posted a small snippet of Draco's "crazy" on my FB -- he didn't fall off his rock for that little snippet, but Lori, at least you can see how intensely crazy he gets just seeing Lexi... so I'll keep trying to get him doing the bouncy-bouncy bobs on video :D

Draco is so cute & he sure has the eyes & beard for Lexi. Loved the pics, he'll sure keep you busy while he's there!

Did you get in to the specialist yet? Any news about Carl. How's he' doing now?

I have no idea how you breeders (Wolfman Tom & Barb & Ogle & Nicole) do all the baths and playtime and feedings with so many dragons!!! I am used to my four... but we alternate bath days... I just bathed all 5, goodness, now I need a nap! (Of course remember, Crash aspirates super easy, so he needs special attention at bathtime... and darn if he didn't get some water in him somehow tonight, but luckily I bathed him last)

Dawn when you gradually add one a year or so it's not so hard at all. Now babies can make the daily chores a bit overwhelming at times, but they are so freakin' cute it's not like a chore with them.

Hope Crash is doing okay today. :love5:
I have to really watch Zak-n-Wheezie in the bath too...they sure know how to scare the hell out of us... don't they?

Hugs & Snuggles!

yeah, he seems no worse for the wear, Barbara, so maybe he was just vying for mom's attention, the brat. Seriously, tho, he does aspirate very easily, so its a major undertaking safely giving him baths... He gets water from the pipette about 5-6 offerings daily if not more, just to keep the water going with him... and he's a little booger about swallowing, he holds it in his gullet and doesn't swallow... so I really have to watch him... and of course he's my baby, he is my first ever dragon, so there is a fierce bond between me and him :love5:

Boohoo, Drake's mommy picked him up yesterday, and we miss him... but we know she loves him too, so promised to spoil him rotten then give him back (kinda like a grandchild LOL -- cause Jessyca is kinda like an extra kid to us LOL)... well, we weighed him right before they were leaving, and he had just had a healthy poo, and he was 312 -- yay! we got him to gain a few grams!!! She found that if she gives him more than 5 supers, he would tend to throw up later... so we did two feedings, one of 4, one of 3 ... no barfies, so yay. And he ate his veggies like a champ, LOVES the fresh picked cukes from our garden, as well as the white hibiscus petals... yum.

He was a total sweetheart, and short of really making Crash jealous, all went great -- but I've made nice with the king, I think he's forgiven me... I still cannot believe my sweet lovable marshmallow Crash hissed at me... then Carl figured out he had seen me holding Draco, and I had Drake's scent on my hands/shirt. I felt so bad, so Carlye took over the Drake snuggle time :D

Oh my, that's so funny that Crash was jealous! And he hissed at you  wow, that's really something! Well, when Mom's got another male dragon its' to be expected. Guess it's ok to cuddle the girl, but he's top dragon, so not surprising that he reacted that way. Men, honestly!

As for jealousy, yes, my guys react to Gabriel like he'd be a good meal, so I'm hoping within a few months he's gained enough to bulk out some. He's up to 314g now, and he's eating more dragon food than babyfood, so that's also a good sign. I give him Benebac after he's eaten, seems to settle his tummy, but I think he's just getting stronger every day now.

So how's Carl feeling, hope he's feeling better than he was. Did you ever get an appointment with the specialist for that lump? Hope all is well at that end!

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
