So I found a Website that Sell's many Different Roach Species's, particularly the Big Specie's, Dubia, Lobster, ect. And the Site sell's them as Pet's, for Breeding, or Feeder's.
So I was wondering can I feed my Beardie American Cockroaches as a Staple once a get a Colony of them going? If I buy them that is. And Also yes, they are Disease Free.
Give me some Opinions or Fact's or what ever.
Thank's.

Ok, skip all that Crap up there ^^^^.

Now I need Opinion's on these.....1 - Blaptica dubia, 2 - Blaberus discoidalis, 3 - (Blatta) lateralis, 4 - Nauphoeta cinerea. I obviously know about the Dubia, but what about the other three???

Eh, the problem with Periplaneta americana is that they're so hardy, they're near impossible to get rid of if even one escapes, and escaping is something they're good at. Clean or not, I wouldn't risk it. At least Dubia are poor escape artists and need heat to breed.

Excellent points! I guess the big question is when there are better options like dubia or lobster, is there a reason you want to have an American cockroach colony? Only other things I would be concerned with are their meat to shell ratio and ability to bite back, which I think they can do. Don't they have stronger barbs on their legs as well?

If you don't get the answers you are looking for here, you may want to ask in a roach forum where you are more likely to run into a serious roach hobbyist. 8)

Haha Yeah, But I have already thought about your Point's, which is Escape artsist, Wouldn't a layer ov Vasiline around the top of the Bin stop them from climbing to high and everything?

And Barb's on their Leg's, I think only the Full Adult's have the barb's, which is Why I would feed only the Near Adult's nymph's, or a little Smaller nymph's, cause i'm pretty sure they have no Barb's.

And the Reason I was looking at the American's, on the WebSite they Sell them at like 2 cent a piece Male and Female, so I could get a Starter Colony for like $5 xD Haha.

Which they have ALOT moreSpecie's that are Big Like American, Dubia, Lobster, I just have Never heard of them, and Didn't know anything about them.

I'll try to find the site link for ya'll.

Ok, yeah I just read that they stink really bad, and have a secretion that smell's so bad it turn's predator's away. So yeah, those are out. Lol.
But I'm still trying to find the Site with all the Different Species so everyone can check it out.

Well haven't been able to find that site, but I was looking at some other forum's and I have come up with this.
1 - Blaptica dubia, 2 - Blaberus discoidalis, 3 - Shelfordella (Blatta) lateralis, 4 - Nauphoeta cinerea.

I know everyone's opinion's on Dubia, but what about the Discoids, Lat's and Cinerea?

Dubia are easy to set up and are what I would consider a steady breeder. Once a colony is established they provide a good solid feeder and can be pulled at various sizes based on your need. Discoids get larger than Dubia. I personally don't have a need for anything larger than Dubia at this time so I do not breed Discoids. The larger the adults, the more space they take up in the tote and the more food they eat too. Lateralis is a species I plan to establish if I ever decide to start breeding beardies. Adult size is about the size of an adult cricket they are red and they are fast. They also breed rapidly. Since they are smaller to begin with and breed rapidly I personally feel they are the best choice for dragon breeders since their growth cycle is just as long as other species but the end result is a smaller roach, which to me means more time spent at the ideal feeder size for the young dragons. I haven't done enough research on Cinerea to comment.

thank's for the Input, I have already bought a very small starter colony of Dubia just to see how it goes. I got 9 Adult Female's & 1 Adult Male for $10 at Repticon, but the Male died the Nest day, and then 1 of the Female's had about 20 Nymphs the same day. Lol.

Also another roach I'm REALLY interested in is Blaberus Fusca. I've read that they are a much over looked feeder, the Breed Faster than Dicoid's and Orange Head's. There are also Dwarf Fusca's as well which are smaller. But the breed fast and have the same care as Dubia, ect.

Any one deal with them before?

Went to buy 220 Crix this Morning at my Local Pet Store, and I found out a Guy that Work's there Breed's Dubia in the Back!!!! xD I was told he work's this Friday & Saturday from 10 - 7. So I'm going to call him and get Price's, hopefully he's not charging anything outrageous, but if he is, i'll tell him what's up with them, and the price they should be sold for, and price's they are sold for. I already have 9 Adult Female's and about 15 - 20 Nymph's, but my 1 Male died the Second day I had them, so I really need to buy about 11 more Adult Female's and 6 Adult Male's and 300 Mixed Size Nymph's, which would give me a total of 20 Adult Female's, 6 Adult Male's, and 320 Mixed Nymph's. Would that be enough for a nice Starter Colony or would a need a little bit more? I just want them to start breeding fast and get a Big Colony going fast as possible, while still saving that $$$.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
