I recently adopted a beardie that im assuming hasnt had the best of care. It seems like he has been pretty fine since i've had him. He has been eating, drinking water, all that good stuff. I have him in a 55 gallon with a ceramic emitter at one end and a flourescent over him as well. My concern with him on the other hand is some slight discoloration around his nose. Im not sure what is causing this and Im assuming someone on here does. I will attach a poor quality picture, but to explain it there is just a few spots around his nose were it is a bit black/ discolored like he got some dirt on his nose. My other main concern is sometimes when im holding him and I move my hand as his head move it will jerk twice instead of smoothly turning. Im new to owning beardies but it just does not look so natural to me. Either way my intention is to give this guy a good home like I have comitted to do. I would just like to know what problems I could potentially be dealing with. Thanks for taking the time to read, and I look forward to your responses!

It is around the lips under the nostrils. I've been considering the possibility of mite or maybe something fungal...im not sure though, maybe its just from hitting the glass a bit much? He is about 1 yr old I am told. The flourescent is of course a special UVB bulb for reptiles.

A picture would prob be more helpful to see what your talking about.

ut by the by, but do you have a bright white light in there? CHE's are good for nighttime and bumping temps up but they need bright white to protect their eyes from the damage UVB can do.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
