Black Soldier Fly question

Just gave our guy his first meal of black soldier fly larvae and mannn did he love 'em. Question though: the larvae are in some kind of dirt in the cup, should they been rinsed off before giving them to my beardie? I did not just give him a clump of dirt with some larvae in it, but some had a little of the dirt on them and I want to make sure this is safe for him to ingest. Soooo much easier than crickets!

A little bit shouldn't cause a problem. I usually try to at least brush them off. If I'm offering a bunch at a time I usually put them in a sieve and give them a shake and quick rinse to get most of the dirt off. Note that when they are wet they get a bit sticker and are able to climb more easily. If they wind up hatching into flies, you can feed those as well. My dragon LOVES going after the flies.
