Black on teeth

Hi there,

Just want some advice. My 12 month old beardie has black marks on her teeth. I’ve note some post on this forum it could be stains on teeth, tar or some teeth/gum disease.
Just wanted to know if this should be anything to be concerned about.

My last check up with my vet a few months ago said they could clean it by ultra sound. But that’s expensive ($289 NZ dollars).

Do I need to do anything or ok to leave it? I don’t think bearded dragons look for ultra sound dental work in the wild LOL.

Temperatures, heat, and UVB 12% T5 light all good. Eats mainly Veges and Repashy Grub Pie every day.

Gums and teeth look quite healthy to me. Probably just a little buildup. You could try offering some hard shelled bugs which may clear it up. You could also just dab at them with a wet q-tip and see if you can gently clean it. MaxiGuard gel works well to clean teeth and gums but it's not a big deal if you can't get it in New Zealand easily. Try the hard shelled bugs and q-tip with water first.
