Black bearding

Simon is acting really weird lately! Starting all day yesterday my boyfriend said he was running all over the tank yesterday and black branding all day. He keeps doing it today too. He doesn't have to poop, he doesn't even really eat much since he's been sick, but even when I hold him he keeps trying to run and black beards me... He never beards me unless I'm feeding him mess or baby food and usually when I hold him he calms down but I can't figure out what's going on with him...

Any ideas?

Sorry to hear he's been sick. What are the temps in your tank and how are you measuring them? If his temps are off that can stress him. He could also just be stressed from being sick.

His temps havent changed, he's about 107 under his basking light and about 95-100 in his warm side and about 75-80 on his non basking last time I checked. I checked with a digital thermometer. I think he is just oober stressed because of his daily meds and food given by a syringe that he absolutely hates. He is just sooo temperamental all the time now. He actually cut my lip open with his nails earlier because he went to run off my shoulder and I grabbed him and he fought with me. I'm going to take him to the vet this week, Im worried he has a sinus infection of whatever its called. I dont like his breathing and he is gaping all the time, cold or warm now.

It's probably from being sick then. They gape usually because it's too hot. Your temps sound good though. Maybe try to adjust the temps to see if that helps any. Hopefully he gets better soon!
