Black beard when sleeping

Has anyone else noticed that when thier beardie lays his head on a rock (Spike HAS to have a 'pillow' :lol: ), it's beard will go patchy black and white?

While I was posting this, he opened his mouth really wide and it clicked pretty loud. I know he's ok cause he just ate like a pig. It looked kinda like he was settling his jaw, same as my snakes do. Do beardies do that?

He may have regurgitated some food?
As for the laying the head on a rock, mine sleep anywhere haha. patchy black and white may be that he feels vulnerable when sleeping so he does it as a warning maybe?
