So I was reading about substrates and only now (after ages of researching) found someone mention a "bioactive" environment. I personally LOVE the sound of it, it would help my schedule greatly, and I think would look awesome too. I'd like to know how to set-up a bioactive tank? I get a lot of different information on the internet, so I wanted to know what you guys think?

I haven't set one up but a few folks on here have. As far as I know it requires a bit of space in terms of height so you can have enough layers for drainage. It includes soil, sand, rock layers and includes things like leaf litter on top. You populate it with isopods and bugs to handle the waste and keep the soil healthy and bacterial buildup down. I think it's a good option if you have the room and the time to manage it.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
