bin feeding

my final question for the night is about bin feeding. it there any perks or down sides to it and if there are perks how do you get your dragon to bin feed without freaking him out. mine go ballistic s soon as i put them in there. also i usually try this in a well lit area, handing him only a few out at a time so he doesn't feel overwhelmed i guess.

Sometimes they can panic or get stressed out by being placed in a bin with their food. It takes some trial and error and depends on the individual dragon from what I've seen. I don't use a bin rather I just feed in small batches right in the main enclosure so I can easily track and remove any leftovers.

yeah i tried the bin feeding and it just didn't work. i figured a small enclosure they would be more inclined to eat because the crickets were so close.instead they started trying to scale the walls. tried it on two occasions. so instead i out newspaper in it and that's how we get to the vet etc. :lol:
