Biggest DO'S and Biggest DON'TS in Breeding.

As I've been researching whether I should rotate my freshly laid eggs so the pink spot is facing upward I've come upon several VERY strong opinions on the subject. Some say do it slowly if its after the first 48hrs and that its detrimental to the eggs if you do not, that you could even drown them :shock: My first few clutches I never did this and this last clutch laid on Christmas day I did not either, 3am, and I was not thinking properly :? Now I don't know if I should rotate them at all or just leave them be...

Soooo All you advid experienced breeders out there! Lets hear your opinion on this and other BIG do's and don't and the reasons why! Thanks!!

just leave them alone. Its a myth that they have to be laying a certain way. The mom does not lay eggs, then crawl back there and position them, she kicks them all over buring them however they happen to lay. They hatch just fine.

When people say that rotating them after they have sat a few days can kill them... I dont know for sure, sense I've never done it. But it does seem plausible to me.

Thanks for your reply Jason, I believe the same, I left the eggs as is and they all seem to be doing fine. Hopefully we'll have lil hatchlings in a couple months.

Anybody else out there got any big do's or don'ts?
