Best way to clean poop from branches

My dragon went ahead and let loose on his basking area which is a series of branches. He has been sitting black beard status since then ...I did a brief scrub down with water and scotch brite and he is somewhat happier but still wont use it to bask. How can I sanitize and clean the branch up good? does a diluted bleach soak with a good rinse work? Or is there a better way?

I use a steam cleaner to sanitize most things now. In the past I've used a vinegar & water mix along with a scrub to rinse the larger material off. Once it's rinsed well put it in the oven and bake it for half an hour or so at 250/low to sanitize the wood.

I would probably use Dawn and if there is a stain after rub it with steel wool, afterwards I would bake it.
