Best Wattage Mega to get?

What is the best wattage mega-ray to get because my 100watt powersun couldnt quite hit the mark to get the temp up to atleast 100F is the mega ray warmer or do i need something slighty stronger? I have a 40 Breeder and they average 8 inches from the bulb but can get 2 inches or so closer.

The MegaRay is the hottest of the mvb's. With a 40 gallon breeder, a 100W Mega will work fine. The minimum safe distance though is 12" from bulb to beardie.

Actually, if you have ever used a Rep-Pro MVB, you would know what hot is. That thing was downright dangerous by any measure of the word. I am amazed that it didn't just melt in the first hour. It lasted a tick under 6 months before burning out, but didn't seem to harm my dragon any (was her first bulb, from 6 weeks to 6 months).

But yes, Mega Rays are very hot. A 100w SB should be plenty for a 40g breeder...just make sure to have some additional lighting for the cool end (NON-uv flourescent tube or coil around 5000k color temp). This should help with the light intensity....which is a good thing.
