Best sand substrate?

Before you say the obvious, I use non adhesive shelf linear as substrate but I wanted to give Daisy a little dig box just for the hell of it but I don't know what I can use for that part, I've hear flax seeds before but I don't know where I can get that. What about play sand? (Daisy is about 6 & a half months old).

Millet seed or alfalfa pellets work good I've heard.
